Battle of the insects

It was my first time ever. After so many months that had passed planning on doing this thing, it finally happened. At last, nakapag-paintball din kami. Ang tagal kong hinintay yun. Kaya when Sir Em invited me again to join the game, I didn't entertain any second thought. Grab kagad.

We were suppossed to be around 25, unfortunately almost 1/4 of the group went overtime that day, so syempre trabaho muna for them. Kaya 16 lang kami, and there were only three girls, I (walang kokontra), Irish, and Mitch. The players were divided into two groups. Here they are!

And now the Black Team (Cockroach Team)!!!

The arena was the top level of an old, unfinished, abandoned-looking yet functional (meron kasing mga restaurants and recreational chuva sa first level, and parking lot sa 2nd level) building. The 3rd level was where the battle ground was located.











Since we were not allowed to take pictures inside, magtyaga na lang tayo sa description. The battle field was enclosed in a big fishnet (fish net talaga!!!hehehe). Inside were piles of sand bags, plywood, snipping point (which looked like a nipa hut), etc. (di ko n alam ang tawag sa kanila).


The general rules of Paintball include:
1) A head shot would automatically get you out of the field,
2) A player is considered wounded when he/she receives either a single shot on the arm or one on the leg.
3) Two shots on the extremeties would mean your dead.
4) Empty armor-OUT. (Syempre nga naman wala ka ng silbi sa loob.) And you can't reload and get back once you have settled your feet in the arena.

The first two games were simply called "defense-offense" (as the referees called it, how creative diba?!). The rule of this game was to get the blue flag located at the farthest area at the base of the opponent team for only 15 min. The first team to do the offense was the Green Team. It did not take us so long to get the flag for after about 10 min Sir Renan came out from the net with the flag. After this the Black Team had their turn. It was quite long before the Black Team had actually reached the boundary of our bases. When the referees made their last-minute call, which signaled that the time period was about to end, our team was super hopefull that the opponent would not get the flag as they still seemed to be so still and not attacking so much. However, the 1 min seemed to have been stretched because the Black Team was still able to get the flag even for the last few seconds. So we tied up.

The deciding game was when the team would make "ubusang lahi". Basta ganun lang ubusang lahi (self-explanatory naman). But the two teams had an agreement that there would be no snippers. And so the game began... and it ended with the Black Team winning...ang bilis diba?

The final game was actually tiring and intense. There were times when I almost fall down on my face from running because of being exhausted from the first two games and the tense feeling inside because you wouldn't know when an enemy would attack. The battle gear made it more difficult because it made breathing harder and you could not remove the helmet because that was a NO! NO! So occassionally I would run and kept myself hidden. The opponent team was actually good in hiding for I was not aware of anybody near me until I felt a striking pain at my hips. Ang sakit promise!!! And he (whoever he was) did not get satisfied for he shot me twice again. Ayun so syempre I was dead. And you know what it brought me? Three blotches, at medyo malaki sila.

But it didn't matter. Ano ba naman ang pasa?! Basta nag-enjoy...period. Try nyo!
